What are Display Ads?

Display ads are a form of digital marketing that can be placed on websites and mobile device apps that can be in displayed in the form of videos, banners, texts, or images. This type of advertising targets the desired audience through using consumer data such as their demographics, interests, as well as their search behavior. Below are some of the different types of Display Ads: 

1) Traditional: These ads are used to typically expand brand awareness, drive more traffic to your website, and increase the number of leads you bring in. Traditional display ads work through grabbing your audiences attention through images, texts, videos, and more.

2) Responsive: Responsive ads differ and are unique in their own form. They are specifically designed and generated to fit the format of the landing page they are placed on. Therefore, if you see this ad on a computer or a mobile device, it may show up differently due to being able to resize itself accordingly to fit a proper appearance. 

3) Retargeting: Retargeting ads are ads designed and targeted for people who have previously interacted with the company by visiting their website or interacting in some way in the past. For example, if you have ever visited a shopping website, and you've placed items in the cart but never went through with the purchase, you may later on see a retargeting display ad appear. 

4) Social Ads: Social ads are just as they sound. These are ads that are placed on social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms. Due to social media algorithms, this can make it easier to reach your target audience. Nowadays, social ads have become very popular as social media platforms have been growing tremendously.  

5) Discovery Ads: Discovery ads are placed on Google feeds, such as YouTube and Gmail. This form of advertising helps consumers discover new products or services that they are not familiar with, but are relevant to topics that they have previously displayed interest in. 

In total, Display ads can be a cost-effective way to optimize brand awareness and to expand your business. With the day in age we are currently living in, digital marketing is constantly expanding, and will only continue to do so; Display ads is a great way of taking advantage of the times to reach your target audience and drive more sales.
